Domaine Claude Riffault is located in Sury-en-Vaux, in the heart of the Sancerre appellation in the Loire Valley. The estate is managed by Stéphane Riffault , representative of the 4th generation. He trained in Burgundy and at Château Angélus in Bordeaux.

Viña Bujanda Reserva, made of 100% Tempranillo, comes from Rioja Alta and Alavesa areas. Grapes are grown in clay and harvested during the first week of October. The wine is then fermented in stainless steel tanks for 12 days and aged in oak for 20 months before it is ready to enjoy.

A clean, bright, pretty red color, developing to maroon. Intense and highly complex aromas. Notes of stewed fruit. Sweet and warm hints from the barrel, and spicy nuances in the background (cinnamon). Nice and long on the palate.

Naturally Sweet Pinot Noir is the newest addition to the Robert Mondavi Private Selection collection. With zero added sugars, Naturally Sweet Pinot Noir is made sweet through arrested fermentation, leaving some of the natural sugars from the grapes before converting to alcohol, the company says.

The Colleoni Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Santa Maria 2018 is a masterful wine showcasing the depth and complexity of premium Sangiovese. This Riserva offers an intense profile of dark cherries, tobacco, and hints of leather, supported by a refined structure and long, elegant finish.

This Rioja is medium-bodied with aromas of red cherry accented by flowers and fall leaves.  On the finish, additional notes of leather and stewed red fruits lead into velvety tannins.  It is not too traditional nor too modern stylistically.

On the palate it is silky and full-bodied, with a robust texture that frames the luxurious dark berry flavors as they glide to a long blackberry pie and cracked pepper finish. 

A top, single vineyard cuvee from this excellent Sancerre producer. Vacheron is both lean and muscular but with a surprisingly rich texture for the style.

This is a great value Sauvignon Blanc as the fruits are from the Sancerre appellation till 2023. This lightly structured, poised wine is attractively textured and full of ripe citrus and apple acidity. Freshness is enhanced by the final crispness.
