The fruit-driven and easy-to-drink 2019 Laya was produced with Garnacha Tintorera, or Alicante Bouschet, grapes blended with 30% Monastrell from an unusually wet year with torrential rains during the harvest.
Clear deep ruby-purple color. Clean and distinguished aromas of black cherries and blueberry jam. These berry jam flavors attack the palate with juiciness getting smoothed out with light vanilla and delicate milk chocolate and roasted java bean. On the palate the wine is dry, full-bodied with firm but ripe velvety tannins and a long finish.
Entrecepas is the fruit of centuries of tradition in the cultivation of the native varietal, Garnacha. As the essence of this wine, it offers notes of red berries and licorice over a layer of vanilla and coffee.
