Even better is the extraordinary 2004 200 Monges Reserva Especial, a cuvee of 100% Tempranillo, that was aged for 18 months in new French oak and held for 20 months in bottle prior to release. Deep purple in color (but not as dense as the 2005), it offers up a breathtaking bouquet of exceptional complexity.
An attractive rich black cherry colour with a subtle purple tinge. On the nose, abundant aromas of strawberry, raspberry and other fruits of the forest. On the palate it unfolds its fruity character and good concentration, a well rounded and pleasant finish with a perfect acidity.

Fruit for this organic Garnacha-dominant blend from Priorat comes from six different old vine sites in the village of Gratallops.
