The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is a unique blend of Sonoma County and Contra Costa County fruit. On the nose, you are greeted with aromas of blackberry and toast. Rich flavors follow, with blackberry currant and notes of olives, herbs and toasty oak.
Named for the winemaker's late mother, this particular bottling is always a standout. It offers entangled layers of tangerine, strawberry and earthy leather.
Graceful, pure and polished, this enticing Chardonnay offers tantalizing aromas of green apple, nectarine, and candied citrus, with fragrant hints of roasted nuts and acacia blossoms. On the palate, it is rich and lushly textured, with a flowing elegance that frames the fresh citrus and stone fruit flavors, while carrying the wine to a long, silky finish.
Located near the village of Graton in the rolling hills south of the Russian River, Frei Road Vineyard produces a wine of great complexity, tension, and minerality.
Fresh and fruity, this medium-bodied wine also adds touches of toasted oak and butter on the palate for more depth and interest.
Aromas of Meyer lemon, gala apple, and subtle hints of oak are followed by flavors of white stone fruit, yellow plum and honeydew melon. On the palate, the wine is vibrant and concentrated with juicy acidity that drives a lingering finish.
Another Sonoma Coast releases is the 2016 Chardonnay Durell Vineyard. Quince, buttered citrus, white flowers, creamed corn, and some smoky minerality all define this layered, medium to full-bodied, ultra-pure Chardonnay that has acidity, concentration, and length. It's another gem and all these 2016s are a significant step up over the 2015s.
Pinot Noir is all about red fruit—strawberry, raspberry and cherry with some heftier styles delving into the red or purple plum and in the other direction, red or orange citrus. It is relatively pale in color with soft tannins and a lively acidity.
