Juicy dark fruits, bramby berries, and succulent cherries cavort on a bed of licorice, potpourri, saddle leather, incense and sweet baking spices in this supple, superb ’01 Recioto.
Quintarelli is considered the father of Amarone, with an ancient history that dates back to the early 1900s in Negrar, the epicenter of Valpolicella, where between 12 hectares of vineyards and with the utmost respect for tradition, about 50,000 bottles a year are produced for a production niche and therefore of great quality.
The color is a red impenetrable. The nose hints of spices, dried fruit with hints of cocoa and vanilla. In mouth is a powerful wine, with flavors of jam and very ripe fruit; Ideal with meat and aged cheese.
It is no surprise that this legendary estate, though more renowned for its powerhouse, appassimento-style reds, should also produce a stunning (though rarely seen) white.
