Pago de Carraovejas El Anejon 2009 is a distinguished Spanish red wine known for its exceptional quality and character. Crafted by the renowned winery Pago de Carraovejas in the Ribera del Duero region, this vintage is a blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes.
Salbide is a local name meaning "Horses' Path." It refers to the ancient routes leading from the vineyards across the nearby Sierra de Cantabria mountain range. The same mountains protect the very old vineyards from the strong northerly winds and allow the juicy-red tempranillo grapes to ripen perfectly.
Selection of younger vines with an average age of 20 years located in the heart of Rioja (towns of Clavijo, Alberite, Villamediana and surrounding areas) and planted at height to maximize the fresh and fruity character of the variety.
Intense and bright cherry color. Aromas of very ripe fruit, plums, blackberries in compote, and licorice along with pastry and balsamic notes. Hints of spice, nutmeg, cinnamon, and balsamic and smoky notes.
This LAN Reserva has aged for twelve months in a combined American- and French-oak cask followed by two years in bottle. Aromas of red fruits, blended with the notes of vanilla and spice from the oak.
