LAN Culmen Reserva 2017
Intense and bright cherry color. Aromas of very ripe fruit, plums, blackberries in compote, and licorice along with pastry and balsamic notes. Hints of spice, nutmeg, cinnamon, and balsamic and smoky notes.
There are mineral recollections due to the nature of the vineyard soil. On the palate, a multitude of sensations explode. Very structured, silky, and with a great body. It leaves an extended pleasant memory.
85% Tempranillo, 15% Graciano. Bodegas LAN was founded in 1972 and named after the initials of three provinces in the Rioja Designation of Origin: Logronyo (now called La Rioja), Alava, and Navarra. The most spectacular vineyards in Rioja are owned by Bodegas LAN: a privileged enclave of 178 acres of tempranillo, mazuelo, and graciano located on the border of Rioja Alta with Rioja Alavesa and surrounded by the Ebro River. They are solely engaged in the production of crianza red wines, using Rioja's native tempranillo as the main variety, as this is the ideal grape to produce red wines that are subsequently aged in the cask and bottle.
