Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru "La Truffière" from Domaine Colin is produced in small quantities and has a beautiful upright character and a sublime mineral balance. The premier cru vineyards of La Truffière lie at the top of the hill looking out over the village of Puligny. This very fine wine has wonderful peach, pear and citrus notes, enhanced by a hint of floral, and a long lemony finish. If you haven't done so already, try it now!
Golden in color, with a slight ivory hue. The nose opens on citrus aromas, especially lemon and grapefruit, then with airing develops hawthorn and jasmine notes as well as a touch of fresh apricot. From a fresh attack on Kaffir lime flavors with a hint of aniseed, the mid-palate expresses the elegance of the floral notes found on the nose, leading into a finish that lingers on hints of licorice.
Grape variety, 100% Sauvignon Blanc, organic (not certified), 8 months' ageing in bulk with some lees stirring, lightly fined & filtered before bottling. Located at the northern edge of the appellation De Tracy's vineyard is south-west facing, on flint and Kimmeridgian soils and extends from "Tracy hill" to the "Champs de Cris" plateau. 32 hectares are in production.
This traditional white Bordeaux is made by a cooperative of talented winemakers in the picturesque region of Entre-duex-Mers. In the heart of this region you can admire the medieval castle of Rauzan in its vineyard surroundings, which is where this co-op takes its name from.
Golden hue and exceptional purity. A very precise wine. Mineral backbone and good complexity. The first nose is dominated by aromas of white flowers and licorice. The palate is full-bodied, smooth and rich with a delicate acidity that gives it a lively finish. This wine offers excellent ageing potential. Discreet peppery and woody notes evolve. Very persistent finish.
Drink this clean, crisp white on release and over the following year or so.
The original Huet vineyard is nearly 9 hA. It has the richest soils of the domaine’s three crus—a deep limestone-clay—and the wines are generally the estate’s most approachable.
