Saint Roch Vielles Vignes Blanc
Drink this clean, crisp white on release and over the following year or so.
Tasting Notes - The 2015 saint Roch Vielles Vignes Blanc is mostly a blend of Grenache Blanc and Masanne that is grown on gravelled limestone clay soils by the village of Maury. This wine is fermented in rank and then mostley aged in concrete with a portion of the cuvée aged in French oak demi-muids.
The Winemaker - The soil of the slopes is comprised of schiste earth with a limestone base and their elevations fluctuate between 120 to 370 meters. The breeze, called here the "Tramontane", flows in this passageway among Fenouillèdes and Corbières. The southern Catalan sun exploits the refractive characteristics of the schist from this old frosty level to give St Roch its interesting light.
