Tasted at the château, the 2005 Chateau d’Yquem delivers a similar performance as last year. Lucid in colour, the bouquet is detailed with very pure honey, vanilla and almond scents, still a little new oak to be fully assimilated but demonstrating superb focus.
Herzog Variations Oak is a special wine series that journeys beyond the variations of California wine country, and into the Battle of the Barrels. We start with North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon separated into two different types of oak barrels and see which one will come out on top. Oak barrels are a winemaker's spice rack, allowing them to vary the color, flavor, profile and texture of the wine.

Sandeman Fine Tawny has the fruit and style of great Port but with an added finesse. Pale in color and light in body this Porto is superb as a chilled aperitif, or accompanying an appetizer and satisfying when served at the end of a meal.
