Pays d'Oc, South of France, France - An elegant, fruit-forward wine filled with ripe berry notes, this blend of 60% Cabernet and 40% Syrah has an appetizing spiciness to accompany the bright raspberry and blackberry. A crowd-pleaser at home with a weeknight dinner.
Great concentration and a previously unseen quantity of tannins characterized the wines, which possessed extraordinary aromatic intensity, freshness and precision.
Ruby colour with violet flecks. Fruity (dark berries) and spicy (vanilla/cinnamon) on the palate, generous and delicate mouthfeel, with a vanilla finish.
A very colorful, deep red with shades of terracotta. Notes of toasted bread crust and mocha. Aromas of forest undergrowth, mushrooms and roasted plum. Very concentrated and ripe with round, full tannins.
80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Alc. 14% by Vol.
This blend comes from a vineyard just south of Saint-Emilion. Rounded and smooth, it is medium to full-bodied with soft tannins and a long, fresh finish. Oak is slightly used and this lets the plum, bramble jelly and blackcurrant fruit really come to the fore.
