The Tomintoul distillery is located in the Scottish Highlands in the Cairngorms National Park. The distillery was named after the village of Tomintoul, which is located near the site. The whiskey distillery was opened in 1964 and is now in the hands of Angus Dundee Distillers.

Winter rainfall was largely absent across Northern California and the Napa Valley entered the growing season with rain totals that ranged from 40 to 60% below normal and had temperatures that were two to three degrees warmer than average.
Truly “small batch,” each batch of this US-1 Bourbon is typically composed of no more than two dozen barrels, leaving no margin for “blending out” imperfection and thus necessitating excellence from every barrel.
This 2023 rendition boasts beautifully fresh, fragrant aromas of honeydew melon, grapefruit and guava, with a slight floral note. Grenache (Garnacha) "Gambrels of the Sky" comes from an Emily Dickinson poem entitled “I dwell in Possibility,” and though this feels a little lofty, it seemed appropriate for a wine dedicated to my remarkable grandmother, Frances Howard Peterson. Not only did she love poetry, she also loved cooking, science, and wine.
