Notes from the Winemaker:As we have continued our exploration of the vast diversity that California has to offer, we find ourselves increasingly drawn to the cooler climates. These wines offer vibrancy, freshness and clean delineation that engage both our curiosity and our palate.
The 2015 Screaming Eagle Sauvignon Blanc comes from one of the most prestiguos appelations in the United States. From Oakville Californiawas grown on 2 acres at the Screaming Eagle Vineyards and only 600 bottles were produced.
Yarden Chardonnay was produced entirely from Chardonnay grapes grown in the Golan Heights. The cool climate, rocky volcanic soil, and high altitude are ideal conditions for growing classic wine grape varieties.
Reminiscent of golden delicious apples, mango, ripe apricots, and hints of toast on the nose, this Chardonnay's mouthwatering acidity balances the slight creaminess that comes from its barrel aging and batonage.
Pale straw in color with a nose that leaps from the glass, reminiscent of lemon curd, green apple, and hints of jasmine flower. On the palate, the wine bursts with a bright and brilliant array of citrus, from makrut lime to Meyer lemon peel, interwoven with an ever-present stony minerality. Its fresh acidity is complemented by a subtle hint of oak and marzipan from barrel age.
This white wine grape is popular around the world and for good reason. Lusciously sweet, and fruit-forward aromas can be anything from fresh citrus to ripe tropical fruit. There are exceptional bottles from all different wine regions, but many of the best Rieslings come from Germany.
The wine is made from Rkatitseli grape variety from Telavi region using old Georgian traditional technology. Juice fermentation and aging on skins was done in Qvevri for 6 months. The wine is characterized with light straw color, soft tannins and velvet aftertaste. Best matches with cheese and meat.
