Riesling grapes were harvested in September and October at the peak of flavor ripeness. Fermentation temperatures were maintained at 55-60 degrees F to preserve Riesling’s fresh and fruity character.

Grapes for this Chardonnay come from three of our Sonoma Coast Vineyards located to the East of Petaluma - Catapult, Diamond Pile and Tolay Vista. This region is called “The Petaluma Gap”, defined as a corridor of cool air that comes from the Pacific Ocean and flows toward the east through the gap in the Sonoma Mountain range.
Golden in color, with a slight ivory hue. The nose opens on citrus aromas, especially lemon and grapefruit, then with airing develops hawthorn and jasmine notes as well as a touch of fresh apricot. From a fresh attack on Kaffir lime flavors with a hint of aniseed, the mid-palate expresses the elegance of the floral notes found on the nose, leading into a finish that lingers on hints of licorice.
Perret’s approach to winegrowing is classic: respect each individual terroir—he produces several single-vineyard wines—and work the soil to avoid the need for chemical treatments. His goal is to make fresh, structured wines, in “a sort of Burgundian style” as he says, but without too much wood; wines that aren’t too worked over and will age well.

The approachable, bright and flavorful J California Chardonnay was composed from three exceptional California growing regions. Aromas of vanilla and tropical fruit open on the wine, carrying through to the smooth, layered palate.
Pale yellow with green nuances. This wine shows tropical fruit, cut grass and minerals on the nose. On the palate buttery lemon curd followed by granny smith apple with a medium body and a fresh citrus finish.
Aromas of gooseberries and lush tropical fruit with a touch of wet hay and nettles. Ripe gooseberries, green gage plums, and tropical fruits with a slight hint of oak on the palate.
Transparent yellow. A delightfully complex nose of lime and grapefruit blended with herbs such as boxwood. Citrus and herb notes reappear on the palate. A fresh, bright, and pleasing wine with nicely balanced acidity and good persistence.
