This 50-year-old Tawny was sourced in the eastern reaches of the Douro Valley, location of many of the finest vineyard estates and traditional source of the most long-lasting wines. Prior to blending, the individual wines were aged in Taylor’s cellars in seasoned oak casks specially selected and set aside by the firm’s team of expert coopers.
Produced on the North Coast of Portugal this is a harmonious wine. The floral aromas merge to perfection with tropical notes resulting in a complex elegant Vinho Verde. It is delicious, refreshing and fruity with a long persistent after-taste. Perfect for all occasions. Excellent as an aperitif and great with cold meals, salads and Asian cuisine.

Grapes taken from the best parcels, carefully selected; manual harvest in 15 kg boxes, with cooling of grapes and extraction of the must with a very soft whole grape pressing; fermentation in stainless steel vats and French oak barrels, followed by a rest period of 8 months. At the end of the 8 months rest, during the blend preparation, only a small part of the wine is used, after a second selection of the best barrels or vats which will then compose the final blend.
Elegant and complex, this 20-year-old tawny marries an intense nutty flavor with butterscotch and oak. It is a wine of exceptional character with a nice sweet finish.
