Red currants and blackcurrants with some violets and crushed earth. Full-bodied with round, creamy tannins. Fine, velvety tannins that are open and grounded. Firm and tight finish. Drinkable now, but better in 2024.
Medium bodied, for Napa Cab, and very pretty showing violets and loads of blue fruit. A very well balanced wine.
The Dalla Valle wines from the 2011 vintage are an achievement. In many parts of Napa Valley, the season brought challenges, like cool temperatures, early rain, and a relatively late harvest. “Lush aromatics of cassis and complements of pencil shavings and graphite, it’s just a really elegant wine that’s drinkable upon release—but also has the structure and tannins to carry it in aging.” — Carol Schrader
Aromas of blackberry and mocha on the nose. Concentrated, intense flavors of ripe boysenberry and blackberry with notes of fig fill the palate. Elegant, structured tannins add depth and dimension with a round, rich dark chocolate, dark berry finish. Enjoy with hearty stews, steaks on the grill, or fire-roasted vegetables.
A complex nose of blackberry, fresh boysenberry, and violet. On the palate, layered, fresh expressions of blackberry, boysenberry, and black cherry are balanced by fresh acidity and supported by a firm tannic structure. The finish reveals a hint of minerality underlying the deep, dark fruit.
Generous aromas of boysenberry, black cherry and fig accented with earthy notes. Robust, concentrated flavors on the palate, the wine offers blackberry and boysenberry notes layered with hints of minerality. Structured and opulent tannins fill the palate with a deep, powerful black fruit finish.
