Coming on the heels of a prolonged multi-year drought, the 2016 growing season was defined by near-ideal conditions. Rain in March and early April allowed the vines to start the spring with ample moisture in the soil, making for healthy canopies and balanced vines.

Ideal conditions throughout the growing season brought the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to peak ripeness, resulting in vivid fruit flavors and soft, supple tannins. Fruit set for Cabernet Sauvignon was excellent, which allowed us to produce a wine that is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.

The 2010 vintage has delivered a beautifully fragrant wine with layered aromas of blackberry, cassis, cinnamon cake, anise, cardamom, tobacco leaf, and mocha. On the palate, the entry is soft and smooth with blueberry and bittersweet chocolate flavors, as well as notes of red currant, cedar, and sweet spice.

This wine is phenomenally dark in color, and while it is rich in tannin and extract, the texture is silky, polished and long. In its youth, the wine is showing notes of mocha, cassis, black cherry, clay, and smoke.

Eaglestone Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 is a garnet-black wine with mild aromas of spiced cherries, pickle, and nougat. Its bright, dry-yet-fruity palate is complemented by a supple light-to-medium body and a snappy finish of roasted nuts and cedar.

Rich aromas of seasoned oak meld effortlessly with ripe boysenberry and candied cassis. The entry of the wine if soft and delicate, but quickly evolves into a serious mid-palate replete with opulent and concentrated flavors of dark fruits.

"Estate Bottled" is an important definition for Philip Togni, meaning that they grow all the grapes on land they own and make and bottle the wine with their own workers, totally free from outside influences.

Medium to full-bodied, the palate features loads of black fruit preserves, framed by chewy tannins and great freshness, finishing with a compelling herbal lift.

Plenty of ripe, wild berry and plum aromas and flavors, framed by vanilla, spice, and toasty oak. Lush mid-palate tannins flow into a lengthy finish accented by bright fruit. Made with 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot.

The long, cool vintage has endowed this wine with inky, midnight color, perfume-like aromas, and elegant flavors of black fruit that's rich and juicy down to the core, with enticing layers of cocoa, black tea, spice, subtle toast, and the kind of mouthfeel you only get with ripe, silky Stags Leap District tannins.
