Villa Caterina Merlot is a premium red wine produced in the Veneto region of northern Italy. The wine is named after Villa Caterina, a historic estate known for its beautiful vineyards and traditional winemaking techniques.
Made of 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese. The aging of the wine is carried out in large barrels for 18 months before being bottled and put on the market.
Intrigu is only aged in stainless steel for 6 months, followed by 3 months in bottle, which allows for a transparent presentation of the grape. On the nose there are aromas of balsamic, clove, violets, and black pepper. On the palate, the wine is filled with notes of darker black and red fruits, tobacco leaves and a touch of clove. The tannins are gentle and leave a mouth coating finish.
The aromas of this complex red wine range from cherries and plums to gladiolus flowers and earthy flint. The tannic, oak-aged flavors are bright and round, with a dry, warm, earthy finish. Best enjoyed with very flavorful dishes, such as tomato-based sauces, mushroom ravioli, beef or pork roasts, and game meats from venison to pheasant. It is also excellent with mature cheeses.
Fantastic aromas of dark berries, sandalwood and Spanish cedar that are ever so deep. Full body, an incredible spin of polished tannins and bright acidity. Incredible depth. Like looking over the edge of a skyscraper. Powerful and structured.
Ruby red in color, with an intense nose of ripe red berries, and the toasty scent of 12 months in barrel. This wine comes from vineyards on the slopes surrounding Montalcino in Tuscany. The area is known for production of Brunello, a dark-skinned, low-yielding clone of Sangiovese, although the Rosso is made from the fruit of the younger vines, for a lighter style.
