Johan Vineyard is an 85-acre, Demeter-certified biodynamic site in the Willamette Valley, south of McMinnville and west of Salem. This site is almost always our last Pinot pick of harvest. Although it's a relatively low-elevation site, due to its proximity to the coast and the winds that howl through the Van Duzer Corridor every summer afternoon, the fruit here tends to ripen later than in our other vineyards.
A deep maroon core with a ruby rim, the 2021 Eight Years in the Desert opens with aromas of wild blackberry, pepper, oatmeal raisin cookie, Sequoia forest floor, bay leaf and spices. The entry is broad and opulent with a mid-palate of brambly raspberry, black cherry, ripe blueberry and a hint of cacao. The wine has superb length through the finish with ripe tannins and a close of sweet oak.

Sanford Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Pinot Noir is exclusively sourced from this historic vineyard in the esteemed Santa Rita Hills AVA. Thirty-five year old vines planted on their own roots give great intensity and complexity. The palate delivers bright cherry flavors framed nicely by bright acidity and supple tannins.

This vineyard has always shown intense concentration of flavors due, in part, to the small yield that we receive. This wine has a silky texture, with flavors of chocolate, cherry and eucalyptus mint.
A beautiful wine from a near-perfect vintage, this robust Cabernet Sauvignon shows balance and complexity - a blend of dark berry, generous oak notes, clove, and nutmeg. This is a supple and complex wine, full-bodied in style, with a punch of power, ripeness, and elegance from start to finish.
Ample winter rains provided welcome soil saturation for the growing season and canopy development. Spring was a bit cooler and rainier than in the last couple of years, resulting in bud break and flowering being delayed a few weeks compared to 2018.
Framed by lovey bright acidity and fine tannins, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon has vibrant fruit notes shining through to the end.
