Uncle Joe Kvanchkara
Other Grape | Georgia
Khvanchkara was the favorite wine of Joseph Stalin, the most famous and fearsome ruler of the Soviet Union. This mysterious, medium red, naturally semisweet wine delivers clean, spicy fruit and delicate tannins complemented by subtle oak tones. Best served chilled with soft cheeses, desserts, or spicy fare.
Perhaps the best-known Georgian wine, Khvanchkara is made from the ancient, Georgian grape varietal, Alexandreuli. Its exotic, spicy-cherry character is unique.
