The Balvenie Distillery Doublewood (if the shipping method is UPS or FedEx, it will be sent without box)
The Balvenie Doublewood acquires its complex, yet rich and smooth taste from its maturation in two different types of oak cask, carefully selected by Balvenie's award-winning malt master. It is characterized by rich honey sweetness and a delicate layer of sherry.
The Balvenie Distillery remains totally dedicated to the traditions, care and craftsmanship of malt-whisky making, and has been owned and managed by the same independent family company for five generations. The maltman's shiel is still an integral part of their malting process. It is used by their four maltmen for turning grain on the floor of the malt barn. Nowhere else will you find a distillery that still grows its own barley, that still malts in its own traditional floor maltings, that still has coopers to tend all the casks and a coppersmith to tend the stills. Many years of maturation exclusively in traditional whisky-oak casks mellows the maturing spirit and imparts gentle, warming layers of vanilla spiciness.
