The Balvenie 19yr Single Malt Scotch
The Balvenie is a distillery built upon stories and tradition, with the craft of making its whisky handed down through the generations since it was built by William Grant in 1892.
The Stories collection is a range of whiskies inspired by these tales, and A Revelation of Cask and Character is the story of the distillery’s coopers – the craftsmen who maintain The Balvenie’s casks.
The Balvenie is one of the few distilleries in Scotland with an on-site cooperage, where casks are repaired and maintained. Head cooper Ian McDonald has been working with casks for 50 years and this release taps into his extensive knowledge, as well as that of his colleagues who build sherry casks in Spain. The result is this 19-year-old oloroso-sherry-cask-matured expression with layers of dried fruit, nuts and spice.
