A rich and full nose, with a strong character, there are notes of dried fruit, chocolate and herbs. Sweet and exceptionally well rounded. Toffee and barley sugar with a hint of smoke and peat. Medium to long finish.
From the producer: Spicy and savoury, Ardcore grips the senses with waves of marmite, burnt toast, chicory charcoal and infused coffee grounds making for a mosh pit in the glass. Like a safety pin through the septum, a classic Ardbeg herbal top note is present, while swirling, smoky bonfire and molasses loiter backstage.
Orchard house gathers together some of the fruitiest malts Scotland has to offer, including whiskies from the Linkwood and Clynelish Distilleries; what's more, we have sourced many of these whiskies as new spirit and laid them down in our own oak casks. The GlenDronach 18 year old Allardice is named after the distillery’s founder, James Allardice. The Highlander was matured completely in Oloroso sherry casks, and was originally released in 2009 following the distillery changing hands back in 2008. An exceptional fruity sherried single malt.
