The Tomintoul distillery is located in the Scottish Highlands in the Cairngorms National Park. The distillery was named after the village of Tomintoul, which is located near the site. The whiskey distillery was opened in 1964 and is now in the hands of Angus Dundee Distillers.
Tomintoul is owned by small independent distillers, Angus Dundee, who also own Glencadam distillery near Brechin in the east of Scotland between Dundee and Aberdeen.
The Balvenie is a distillery built upon stories and tradition, with the craft of making its whisky handed down through the generations since it was built by William Grant in 1892. The 21 Year Old Speymhor Single Malt was distilled in the Speyside region, which is the region that hosts the most Malt Whisky distilleries in Scotland. The world renowned River Spey brings copious quantities of fresh, clean water to the local distilleries which together with the mountain air and rural nature of Speyside combine to produce the magical quality of Speyside Malts. This Malt has been aged in former bourbon casks which have enhanced its development.
This addition to The Glen Grant Principal Collection is the oldest to date to join its core range. The 21-year-old single malt was matured in a combo of oloroso sherry casks and bourbon barrels, selected and married by the distillery's master blender. You'll find all the classic Glen Grant tropical fruit character here, bolstered by sweet toffee, raisins, vanilla, and hearty baking spice.

Very sweet with a smooth, creamy texture, this is a Speyside whisky with chocolate and custard notes early on that indicate the dessert nature of this tipple, with slight zesty, tropical fruity notes showing that it also has a vibrant side. There are lemon notes throughout this dram, as well as vanilla sponge and marzipan that demonstrate the softer side of this whisky.
Tamnavulin, from Tomnavoulin, Ballindalloch, Banffshire, is one of the many distilleries built in the boom period of the 1960s to keep up with the public interest. Sweet and zesty with lots of fruity notes – such as pineapple, grapefruit and banana – through most of the dram but the finish is more mellow and provides a calming, smooth end to the experience.
