Rich and Creamy, there are notes of roasted nuts, cereals and dried fruits. Sweet, soft and exceptionally well rounded. Mouthwarming with hints of soft fruits, leather and toffee. Long with a lingering sweetness which fills the mouth.
A rich and smoky 10-year-old single malt from Laphroaig that has been finished in oloroso sherry casks, creating a rich, full-bodied character. Aromas of TCP, Manuka honey, clove, smoked bacon, leather and pine tar fill the nose, complemented by notes of treacle, wax, toffee, maple syrup, dark chocolate, pine needles, chestnut honey and rich peat smoke throughout the palate.
The Muirhead's brand of Scotch Whisky was created by Mr. Charles Muirhead, founder of the Glenmorangie Company, also known as Macdonald & Muir. It has been produced in Scotland since 1824. For those who appreciate the mellow sweetness that is imparted by aging in Sherry wood, Muirhead's 18 offers a truly great value and a fine scotch.
Exhaling honey, citrus and spicy cloves. Sherried and full like fruitcake, then dabs of rich dark chocolate and a soothing, mouth-coating finish.
From the producer: Spicy and savoury, Ardcore grips the senses with waves of marmite, burnt toast, chicory charcoal and infused coffee grounds making for a mosh pit in the glass. Like a safety pin through the septum, a classic Ardbeg herbal top note is present, while swirling, smoky bonfire and molasses loiter backstage.
A creamy Highland single malt from the Glencadam Distillery, dubbed American Oak Reserve. This expression was matured in bourbon barrels, imparting their gloriously vanilla-rich, softly fruity, enjoyably spicy notes to Glencadam's expertly crafted spirit, resulting in a wonderfully enjoyable dram.
Although Port Dundas Distillery closed its doors in 2010, there are select, rare remaining stocks that allow a glimpse into the glorious past of one of Scotland’s most respected and historic distilleries.
In 2018, the Isle of Jura whisky range got a rather snazzy relaunch, which included this tasty 12 year old single malt. Distilled on the eponymous Inner Hebridean island, this expression was initially matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon barrels, before being moved over to Oloroso sherry casks for a finishing period. A great example of Jura's delicious malts, more than suitable as an after dinner dram.
