M. Chapoutier Crozes-Hermitage Blanc La Petite Ruche 2015
The vineyards of Crozes-Hermitage surround the great Hermitage Hill. Sometimes called a "down-sized Hermitage," La Petite Ruche is all freshness and easy enjoyment from younger vines. Brilliant, pale yellow color with greenish tints. Green apple, very floral, exotic fruits, and citrus aromas. Very supple and fresh, clean flavor.
100% Marsanne. The Chapoutier family first settled in Tain l'Hermitage (Rhone) back in 1808. They purchased a winery owned by Comte Monier de la Sizeranne and over time acquired a number of excellent vineyards. In 1990, at the age of 26, Michel Chapoutier takes over his family's firm and in 1996, Michel decides to incorporate Braille on all his wine labels. This innovative approach is a tribute to Maurice Monier de la Sizeranne, original owner of the vineyard where Hermitage La Sizeranne wines are made and also inventor of the first version of abbreviated Braille. Today, M. Chapoutier is the only producer to own vineyards in all of the major Rhone appellations, making them the leading Rhone producer.
