The "Extra Old" Hennessy Cognac, also called Hennessy XO Luminous, was first bottled in 1870 by Maurice Hennessy for family and friends.
Hennessy XO Luminous offers a more complex eau-de-vies blend between from 10 to 70 ages. The aromas of ripe fruit, spices, wood and pleasant alcoholic "green" are strong in the nose. In addition, the palate is balanced, elegant, and has a strong taste of fruits, cinnamon and roasted wood.
Hennessy's history dates back to 1765. Irishman Richard Hennessy founded the company first as a trading company for the sale of cognac spirits. Hennessy is today the most successful cognac exporter in the world. This led to collaborations with other markets such as the hip-hop scene in the United States. His estate and headquarters are located in the famous city of Cognac in Charente.
