Flor de Vetus Verdejo Rueda 2023
Verdejo | Spain
Vetus means forbidden in Latin. The vines are located at an altitude of 810 to 930 m, in the northernmost area of Rueda (Segoría); here the harvest is about 3 weeks later than elsewhere in the DO.
When the bottle is refrigerated, the butterfly on the label turns blue (from 8°C)!
The total production is 35,800 bottles.
Vinification
Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel vats.
Analytical
Clear color of young wine. Very Verdejo on the nose - citrus, herbaceous and chalky notes, all on a very seductive exotic background.
The palate confirms with tangy notes of redcurrant. A well-honed style, a marked but juicy acidity, and a strong minerality on the finish.
