Cla Special Reserve
With a strong red color and dark orange hints, this wine presents an intense and mature red-fruit aroma, with vanilla and balsamic notes. It shows some volume in the mouth, smoothness, and good, fresh flavors, specially from the red and black jammy fruits. The final is long and very elegant.
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Tinta Amarela, Tinto Cao, Souzao, and Tinta Barroca. Bottled by Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, a place of extreme beauty in the heart of Douro valley and owned by Amorim family since 1999. The family connection to the wine comes from afar, through its connection with the export houses of Vila Nova de Gaia in the cork business. With a story longer than 250 years, the property displays conserved structures and the original cellar building from 1764, after interventions by the architect Arnaldo Barbosa. But the quinta is much older than this and history confirms it as a great land belonging to the Portuguese Royal House, having been identified as its first owner in 1725.
