Chateau Tertre Daugay Grand Cru Classe de Saint-Emilion 2009
A delightful Grand Cru Classe from a respected producer. Less oaky than many St. Emilion wines. With licorice, chocolate, and berry aromas, this richly textured wine has a round, chocolate covered plum finish.
The property is situated on a high promontory that forms the end of the Plateau Saint-Emilion and enjoy a majestic panorama, stretching out of sight to the next village and the Dordogne Valley. It is here that since time immemorial, a watchtower was built to ensure the look of the village of Saint-Emilion. The originality of this exceptional microclimate is its diversity in terms of soils, slopes and orientations. No surprise, therefore, that this wine has appeared between 1844 and 1848 among the 14 most sought after vintages and most expensive of Saint-Emilion.
