Those words had been following us around Rioja like a strange echo. Their name surfaced in nearly every cellar we went to—yet the estate remained mysterious. It didn’t take long before we gave in to temptation and scheduled a visit.
Dark bright red. Meaty, floral and saline nuances to the brooding aromas and flavors of ripe red fruit. Big and tactile, with youthfully chewy aromas that will require patience.
Suntory Hibiki 17 Year Old Whisky is a fantastic Japanese blend, made with aged malt and grain whiskies from Suntory’s three distilleries. Spicy and sophisticated, this is great for catching people out at blind tastings.
Forty Vines Merlot is ruby red with red hues. The bouquet showaces aromas of cassis and spices with a hint of mint. It is medium bodied with soft and juicy tannins. This wine would be the perfect accompaniment for white meat dishes or as an aperitif.

The Giuseppe Quintarelli Secco Ca'del Merlo 2017 is an exquisite Italian white wine, crafted with a blend of local Veneto varietals. Known for its aromatic complexity, it offers layers of citrus, ripe stone fruits, and a subtle floral essence, balanced by a crisp acidity and a lingering, elegant finish.
Refined with a young composition, Pavillon de Leoville Poyferre enjoys a fruity character with a palate pleasing finesse that is very rare to find for for a Bordeaux of its age. Comprised of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon and 37% Merlot.
The 19th century château overlooks 36 hectares of vines growing on a soil consisting of clay and limestone rock. This round, fruity wine has been carefully aged to reflect its intrinsic elegance, and is faithful to the heritage of Baron Edmond de Rothschild.
This Rioja is medium-bodied with aromas of red cherry accented by flowers and fall leaves. On the finish, additional notes of leather and stewed red fruits lead into velvety tannins. It is not too traditional nor too modern stylistically.
