The 2022 Joel Gott Unoaked California Chardonnay has aromas of ripe pear, Fuji apple, pineapple, and melon with citrus notes. On the palate, the wine opens with bright fruit flavors and acidity, followed by a round mouthfeel on the mid-palate and crisp minerality on the finish.
Launched in 2023, Daniel Weller is an experimental line exploring the impact of different strains of wheat on its storied bourbons, inspired by and named after the trailblazer of the Weller family.
Grape variety, 100% Sauvignon Blanc, organic (not certified), 8 months' ageing in bulk with some lees stirring, lightly fined & filtered before bottling. Located at the northern edge of the appellation De Tracy's vineyard is south-west facing, on flint and Kimmeridgian soils and extends from "Tracy hill" to the "Champs de Cris" plateau. 32 hectares are in production.
With an intense ruby-red color, the wine has profound aromas of red and black fruits. On the palate, the wine's dense structure is balanced and elegant, with a silky presence, relatively low alcohol, and noble tannins.
The Bitter Truth Pimento Dram is based on selected pimento/allspice (also called Jamaica pepper) and the finest Jamaican rum. English explorers coined the term allspice because the berry seemed to embody the flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove all at once.
The 2023 Organic Sauvignon Blanc is tropical and rich on the nose. The wine leads with salted pineapple, peach, brine and stewed apples. In the mouth, it is broad, flat and simple. There is fruit there, but its final, best year might be this one. Drink up. 85 Points Wine Advocate
