The Fye vineyards on the right bank are primarily limestone; this is where you find the Grand Cru, along with the villages of Fleys and Fyé and the 1er Cru Vaucoupin, Montée de Tonnerre, and Fourchaume. E.g. a solid pedigree! These right-bank wines are characterized by an intense minerality and more leaner fruit.
Pale pink in color, fine fruity and slightly spicy in scent with nuances of small red fruit. The taste is round, full and fresh and ends aromatic with a mild and persistent finish.
This 2019 year a blend of Pinot Blanc, Riesling, and Gewurztraminer, Boxler’s Edelzwicker is a kaleidoscope of the flavors, aromas, and textures of Alsace—presented, of course, in the inimitable house style. Fresh aromas of white flowers, lemon-lime blossoms and lychee. It has mouthwatering acidity, light to medium bodied with wonderful floral notes in the palate.
Golden yellow colour; lemon curd and roast pineapple flavours, plus custard apple and nutmeg. The juicy, unctuous palate has a bright citrus acidity keeping everything fresh and zippy. Complex, classic style and flavours; honeyed apricots give the necessary tang, with the lovely edge of bitterness providing further complexity and pizzazz. Lovely long finish. Bring the foie gras!
"A well-layered nose grudgingly reveals its aromas of both white and yellow orchard fruit, ample citrus and soft spice nuances that are framed but subtle but not invisible wood influence. Like the Blanchot there is excellent size, weight and muscle to the overtly powerful flavors that possess impressive depth and persistence on the sappy, balanced and harmonious finish. This is really very good and should age accordingly." - Allen Meadows, Burghound
Pale light gold in color with slight greenish glints. Bright, luminous and limpid. The nose is full of sunshine, gaiety, beauty and maturity. A rich, splendid bouquet of a multitude of flowers. A basket of fruit on a fresh summers morning.
Beautiful red color, clear and bright with purple reflections. A very smooth wine, easy to drink, beautiful harmony.
