Mosmieri Tsinandali 2017 is a white dry wine made entirely from autochthonous Rkatsiteli grapes. Hand-harvested grapes are crushed and after short time cold maceration the juice is fermented in high quality stainless steel tanks with temperature control. Even without Mtsvane grape blending it is smooth and balanced like a classical Tsinandali.
Manni is a towering, stubbly, Alpine hulk of a man with a comical cynicism about the modern wine world, as if Woody Harrelson grew several inches taller, threw on a baseball cap, and launched into a bombastic tirade in a mixture of German and Italian, grunting and sighing about Italian consumers’ tasteless appetite for insipid bulk wines.
The 7th generation wines show high quality, concentration, and complexity. The color of the wine is deep purple. The wine has the aromas of blueberries, black tea and is spicy. It is powerful and earthy, with flavors of black fruit. The wine is full-bodied with a long fruity finish.
This wine is a unique blend of Mount Meron terroir and selected vineyards, rich with a history that can be traced back for centuries. Following decades of research where Or Haganuz examined every clod of earth, incline, and harvest, they distinguished each vineyard.
For red varieties, harvests began on 21 September for the ‘old’ Merlot and finished on 8 October with the Cabernet Sauvignon. The single non-local vineyard, Hanspeter is super stoked by the site, which is a half-hour away on the lower hills of the Black Forest, on limestone layered with iron-rich clay, in a strikingly high elevation of almost 2,000 feet.
