Rayos Uva is winemaker Olivier Rivière’s version of a Bourgogne Rouge, sourced from fruit grown in the sandy, gravelly, alluvial soils of the Rioja Baja sub-region in the eastern part of Rioja. This blend of Tempranillo, Graciano, and Garnacha is crafted to convey a brightly fruity version of Rioja unmarked by oak.
The key grape variety of this world-renowned wine region is Montepulciano. It is important to note that this variety is entirely unrelated to the town of Montepulciano in Tuscany, despite sharing a name. Along with this, 15% of Sangiovese is allowed to be blended into the wine.
Pedrabona from the Josep Grau winery is a project located in the Priorat, most of the vineyards are near Gratallops, some small ones can also be found in Pla de Falset. The old vines of Garnacha Tinta and Cariñena grow on the typical Llicorella slate soils.
Rich aromas of ripe black cherry, Mission fig, and dark chocolate mingle with a spice box of clove and nutmeg. The palate is filled with flavors of juicy blackberry and boysenberry that are enveloped in silky tannins, showing complexity beyond its years.

The blend is mainly Merlot, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is as succulent and delicious as anything out there, soft and sensual, with intricate black cherry, cola, violet, cocoa and cedar flavors. You can call it Right Bank in that respect.
