Josep Grau Pedrabona Gratallops Priorat 2020

Pedrabona from the Josep Grau winery is a project located in the Priorat, most of the vineyards are near Gratallops, some small ones can also be found in Pla de Falset. The old vines of Garnacha Tinta and Cariñena grow on the typical Llicorella slate soils.

The climate is continental, but Mediterranean in character. The work in the vineyard is purely manual work and since work is carried out according to ecological principles, biodiversity is guaranteed. Further processing is carried out gently and the wine matured over 14 months, partly in 2500 liter Fudern (Stockinger from Austria) and partly in French oak barriques.

In the glass it is a rich cherry red and offers a variety of aromas in the bouquet. Red and dark fruits and berries are primarily noticeable, paired with spices and accompanied by dried leaves and wild flowers, cedar and graphite. Balsamic notes underline the Mediterranean character of the wine. Very well defined on the palate, very expressive with fresh acidity and a long finish.
