The second release of the Bookers Bourbon 2023 Collection is Bookers Batch 2023-02 Apprentice Batch. This batch pays homage to the early days of my dad Booker Noes career far before he was the Sixth Generation Master Distiller when he first learned the art of making bourbon under the guidance of his cousin Carl Beam.
One of their most limited production items, Michter’s 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye continues the legacy of America’s first whiskey variety (rye) from America’s first whiskey company (Michter’s, originally known as Shenk’s).
Once experienced, never forgotten; that’s this whisky through and through. The majestic autumnal beauty of the secluded glens and the crystal-clear waters of the Cairngorms’ rivers give character to this wonderful 18 Year Old Single Malt. It’s exactly as we’d desired - being smooth, approachable and warming; so sit back, enjoy a wee dram, and experience what the distiller’s art has captured.
It's called "Excellent" for a reason—because it is! Let's not beat around the bush: this is one of the best value sakes out there. It's the sake that everyone will like: Goldilocks, Papa, Mama, AND Baby bear (Just to be clear, Baby in sake experience, not age!)
Using a blanco tequila base, Tequila Komos Reposado Rosa ages in former red wine French oak barrels. Once the tequila has gone through a purification process, mellowed, softened and picked up flavors and colors from the red wine barrels - giving it a pink hue - it is stored and tumbled in amphorae.
The 2021 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon was drawn from 12 year old barrels from different warehouses and floors. A total of 120 barrels; 93 barrels matured together on the 3rd floor, on the Northwest side of Warehouse J.
A big ole nose of cinnamon stick, clove, vanilla, peppermint, and burned sugar is freshened up with crisp green apple. Very spicy, with cinnamon, crisp mint and fennel. Underlying sweet notes of caramel, molasses, vanilla, macaroon, cocoa, and candied fruit.
Nigori is the way sake first appeared when it was brewed for the Imperial Court in Kyoto as well as for most of its 2,000-year history. It is lightly-filtered and the sweetest of all our types of sake. It is especially delicious with very spicy foods.
From The Balvenie's Stories Collection, which pays homage to the whiskymakers and craftspeople behind the dram by bringing their stories to life, A Collection of Curious Casks celebrates the friendship and collaboration between Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie and Sampling Lead, George Paterson.
