The Balvenie 14yr Stories Curious Casks

From The Balvenie's Stories Collection, which pays homage to the whiskymakers and craftspeople behind the dram by bringing their stories to life, A Collection of Curious Casks celebrates the friendship and collaboration between Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie and Sampling Lead, George Paterson.

Initally set aside to become a Single Barrel 12, a subtle smoky flavour was detected without any peat being used, and so the whisky was granted a 14-year slumber in American bourbon casks. Bottled at 47.8% abv.

Velvety sweetness on the nose, alongside aromas of rich toffee, smouldering oak, crisp citrus and ever flowing honey musk. On the palate, candied orange peel is grounded in woody, earthy flavours from beautifully roasted malt and deep vanilla oakiness.
