Rayos Uva is winemaker Olivier Rivière’s version of a Bourgogne Rouge, sourced from fruit grown in the sandy, gravelly, alluvial soils of the Rioja Baja sub-region in the eastern part of Rioja. This blend of Tempranillo, Graciano, and Garnacha is crafted to convey a brightly fruity version of Rioja unmarked by oak.
Vetus means forbidden in Latin. The vines are located at an altitude of 810 to 930 m, in the northernmost area of Rueda (Segoría); here the harvest is about 3 weeks later than elsewhere in the DO.
Deep garnet color. Dense aromas of dried blueberries and cherries with a supple, dry yet fruity medium body and a tangy, blackberry cider and spiced nut accented finish. Lightly oxidized character will work well at the table.
Extraordinary dark cherry red color, intense violet, Mediterranean thyme and cassis aromas joined by notes of cocoa and spice. Full and intense on the palate, with ripe, velvety and elegant tannins. Flavorful and full bodied, with a characteristic, terror-imparted hint of graphite minerality.
The fusion of a traditional native varietal and the rich slate soil of a century-old single vineyard. Harvested by hand and aged for 12 months in French and Caucasian 300-liter oak barrels.
Deep purple/black color. Explosive aromas of ripe currant, red berries, and smoked notes. Rich, powerful, and voluminous on the attack. A huge mouthful of creme-de-cassis concentration.
The wine is medium intensity cherry colored with violet hints. It has intense fruit aromas combined with balsamic and spicy nuances. A full-bodied and structured wine, meaty but well balanced and easy to drink.
Classic Rioja aromas of earthy berry, cassis and raisin along with cocoa and dry spice notes announce a ripe wine with complexity. A dense palate with good acidity sets the stage for baked berry, cassis and raisin flavors.
13% alcohol content. Manual selection of the grape. 50% was made in stainless steel units and 50% in wood units of 2,500 liters. Distinct fermentation and maceration temperature for each variety without reaching above 86 degrees F and without going under 68 degrees F in temperature.
Rias Baixas, Spain- Medium to light-bodied white wine that is rich with peach and citrus fruits while the aromas tend to the floral and slightly nutty end of the spectrum. The wine has bright acidity and an easy-drinking quality.
