Sal da Terra is comprised of wine from two of Eulogio’s own parcels. The first, Francón, is immediately adjacent to the Ría de Arousa which gives it direct Atlantic influence. The soils are sandy granite and red clay with 35-year-old vines trained on pergolas.
“Viña Ijalba”
Those words had been following us around Rioja like a strange echo. Their name surfaced in nearly every cellar we went to—yet the estate remained mysterious. It didn’t take long before we gave in to temptation and scheduled a visit.
A finely tuned Albariño. Brilliantly clean, stony tropical pineapple presents clearly on the nose and palate. Yellow citrus flavors are like a simple, well-constructed melody, balanced and constrained.
Rias Baixas, Spain- Medium to light-bodied white wine that is rich with peach and citrus fruits while the aromas tend to the floral and slightly nutty end of the spectrum. The wine has bright acidity and an easy-drinking quality.
Intense dark red in color with a complex nose reminiscent of black fruits, clove, black pepper and wood. Big on the palate yet soft and silky with sweet tannins and a lingering finish.
Mostly peppery on the nose with cherry and blackberry hints. The palate is gentle thanks to depth and freshness provided by humid winds coming from the near ocean.
A deep and vibrant wine with an alluring cardinal color. Exuding earth, fresh flowers, and intensity, the wine is fantastically balanced between its acidity and smooth tannins. Dark fruits, herbal, and minerality all blend and lead to a long stunning finish.
Intense ruby color with a high robe. Great complexity of aroma with notes of ripe fruit, smoked and roasted. On the palate it presents velvety tannins and a pleasant mouthfeel. Persistent finish with hints of ripe fruit, roasted coffee and aromatic herbs.
Opaque ruby. Ripe dark berries, cherry pit and licorice on the spice-accented nose. Lush and appealingly sweet, offering juicy blackberry and cherry flavors that take on a smoky nuance with air. Closes spicy and long, with a hint of licorice and round, even tannins.
Pedrabona from the Josep Grau winery is a project located in the Priorat, most of the vineyards are near Gratallops, some small ones can also be found in Pla de Falset. The old vines of Garnacha Tinta and Cariñena grow on the typical Llicorella slate soils.
Full bodied and velvety on the palate bursting with delectable jammy cherry and berry flavors. Smooth,juicy and ripe. Of a nice deep cherry red it show an appealing rich nose of ripe red fruit & spices.
