Wolf Blass Black Spice Shiraz 2015
Bold and spicy, Shiraz is the ultimate in dark berry opulence. Deeply aromatic, plush and filled with flavour, Shiraz displays both refined elegance and powerful fruit, giving it the versatility to suit the richest red meat dishes, and the soft lushness to complement a wide range of flavoursome foods.
Wolfgang Franz Otto Blass was born in 1934 in Germany. Wolf began working with his first winemaker, John Glaetzer, in 1970, and within a year John followed Wolf to his new Bilyara winery. In 1973, Wolf really hit his straps by making the first Wolf Blass Black Label. Black Label would go onto win the 1974 Jimmy Watson Trophy, an accolade that is still considered Australia's most prestigious and sought after wine award. This victory helped provide the impetus to start exporting to the world and to establish John Glaetzer in the role of Senior Winemaker. John would go on to become one of the most proficient award winning winemakers Australia has ever seen.
