Our Castle Rock Merlot is produced from grapes grown in carefully selected vineyards in California, where the climate and soil quality provide excellent growing conditions for this classic varietal. This elegant medium-bodied wine is vibrant ruby in color with expressive aromas of black cherry, blueberry, plum, and spice.
Dried cranberries mingle with sweet coconut and vanilla. The palate is bursting with flavors of blueberries and mocha. This wine has a structural core of powdery tannins that are lifted with a touch of acidity. This big, bold Merlot will pair well with many dishes and has amazin aging potential.
There's better integration of the oak and better balance, harmony and elegance in the 2021 Privada Family Blend. It was produced with 40% Malbec and 30% each Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from vineyards in Luján de Cuyo. It feels very integrated, with each variety adding aromas and flavors and coming through as complex and powerful. This has to be one of the finest vintages for this bottling. Maybe they used less new barrels... 220,000 bottles produced.
Smooth and enticing cherry and strawberry on the nose. Vanilla features heavily on the palette with almost chocolate and nutmeg. Warm and textured finish. Dark ruby color, red and dark fruit in the taste. Nice fruity nose.
