Volker Schäfer has made his mark as a great German winemaker specializing in red wines. The estate owned by Volker and his father dates back to 1709 and it was his father’s passion for Pinot Noir that lead him to plant vines in the loam and clay slopes of the Rhine. The estate’s 24 acres produce some of the best Pinot Noirs in the Germany and are savagely underpriced.

This wine displays a vibrant, ruby plum color. The aromas are deep with Bing and Rainer cherries while backed with vanilla and slight caramelized raw sugar notes. The palate is intense with wild raspberry, blackberry and bramble. These flavors are backed by intense earthy notes from black pepper to mushroom followed by toasted oak and clove. The finish overall expresses ripe berry and leather with a silky envelope of toasted vanilla.

Dark ruby color. Light to medium bodied with aromas and flavors of raspberry, tart cherry, spice with a touch of earth. Supple and balanced with a smooth finish.

Dark garnet color. Seductive aromas of black tea, tobacco, and crushed tart cherry and blackberry. Faint notes of vanilla and toast accentuate dark plumb and cherry character. The palate is seamless with silky texture and long sweetness.

Whiffs of smoke and charred cacao nibs accent piercing red-cherry and plum flavors in this intensely fruity yet nuanced red. A voluminous expression of a ripe vintage, it's a juicy wine approachable in youth yet maintains a freshness of acidity and a salty, mineral spine that's rejuvenating. The wine should approach peak by 2024 and hold well through 2029.

This Chassagne-Montrachet unveils a dark garnet hue. Its nose is characterized by blackcurrant and blackberry. The mouthfeel is ample, supple and has aromas of blackcurrant and wild strawberry. The finale is long and elegant.

This exquisite wine opens with an intense bouquet of floral aromatics, including hints of dried savory herbs and violets, providing a captivating sensory experience from the first sip. The wine's balanced acid and tannin structure create a velvety texture on the palate, while the jammy boysenberry, baking spice, and sour cherry notes add layers of complexity and richness to the flavor profile. From our estate located on Highway 246 in the north corridor of the Sta. Rita Hills and planted in 2016, the soils here consist of Elder series loams over marine sedimentary rock below. The pinot noir sits to the eastern side, and also the upper slope of the field, on the darkest, most clay rich soils on the property which are most conducive to producing exceptional pinot noir.

Bota's Pinot Noir is a gorgeously fruity expression of the romanticized grape. It begins with a sweet bouquet of cherry pie and a hint of savory herbs. It opens to rhubarb, black cherry and clove, followed by a brisk finish.

Founded in 1987, Domaine Henri Magnien is a small family estate, with 6 hectares, located in Gevrey-Chambertin. After working side by side with his father Francois, Charles took over the domaine in 2012 and has taken the wines to new heights. He is considered to be one of the rising stars in Burgundy.

Johan Vineyard is an 85-acre, Demeter-certified biodynamic site in the Willamette Valley, south of McMinnville and west of Salem. This site is almost always our last Pinot pick of harvest. Although it's a relatively low-elevation site, due to its proximity to the coast and the winds that howl through the Van Duzer Corridor every summer afternoon, the fruit here tends to ripen later than in our other vineyards.

Pinot Noir from limestone and decomposed granite soils of Enz Vineyard in Lime Kiln Valley (San Benito County). The Enz family has been farming this site since 1967 (the vineyard is also notable for Mourvedre, where the old vines date to 1895). The Pinot Noir vines were re-grafted onto much older roots in the 1980’s, and have been farmed organically without irrigation. The fruit was handpicked between August 24th and September 1st and fermented with 30% whole clusters. The wine was matured for 13-months in neutral barrels and puncheons, unfined/unfiltered.

Moya Meaker is a specialist producer of Pinot Noir. The vineyards are located in the verdant Elgin Valley, where ancient clay-rich soils of Bokkeveld shale combine with cooling winds from the Atlantic Ocean to create ideal terroir for Pinot Noir.

This bright and balanced Chambolle-Musigny from Clerget is loaded with flavors of forest berries, rhubarb, strawberry jam, and mushrooms. Now with eight years of age on it, this wine is really in a good place. Serve chilled and enjoy!
