The 2019 Oakcross Proprietary Red presents itself with an intense, dark ruby color. Ramey Claret follows the Bordelaise model of blending different Bordeaux varietals. Malolactic fermentation is completed in barrel, and the blend is assembled early so it is "elevated" as the finished wine.

The 2021 is the largest and most complex blend we've ever made with dozens of components from vineyards across the realm of Napa Valley. This vintage includes new vineyard sources from Calistoga, Rutherford and Oak Knoll AVA, allowing us to broaden our painter’s palette.
The 2021 growing season was preceded by mild and dry winter weather from January through March. Winter rainfall was largely absent across Northern California and the Napa Valley entered the growing season with rain totals that ranged from 40 to 60% below normal and had temperatures that were two to three degrees warmer than average.
