A deep maroon core with a ruby rim, the 2021 Eight Years in the Desert opens with aromas of wild blackberry, pepper, oatmeal raisin cookie, Sequoia forest floor, bay leaf and spices. The 2016 OVID Napa Valley reflects the pleasure and opulence of the long and nearly perfect growing season from that created it. Stags Leap is one of California’s smallest and most sought after AVAs with only 1,200 planted acres. Unique soil and climate produce Cabernet Sauvignon notable for its distinctive combination of power and elegance. Over the past decade Herzog searched tirelessly for the perfect opportunity to share the wine of this renowned region with the Kosher Wine world. The grapes were harvested at 26° brix and transported to the cellars at 45°F in bins not fully loaded to keep the clusters intact, de-stemmed into a small tank, and fermented for 13 days.
Red currants and blackcurrants with some violets and crushed earth. Full-bodied with round, creamy tannins. Fine, velvety tannins that are open and grounded. Firm and tight finish. Drinkable now, but better in 2024.
Wild strawberries, rhubarb, pomegranate and black cherries aromas are all found on the nose. The palate is so silky and smooth with lingering flavors of cranberry, ripe plum and spice. Earth, black tea and dried cherries may pop with age.
A beautiful wine from a near-perfect vintage, this robust Cabernet Sauvignon shows balance and complexity - a blend of dark berry, generous oak notes, clove, and nutmeg. This is a supple and complex wine, full-bodied in style, with a punch of power, ripeness, and elegance from start to finish.
The Opus One 2018 offers profuse aromas of blackberry, cassis, and black cherry. Elegant notes of violets, white pepper, and rose petals follow and together they deliver a very seductive bouquet. The seamlessly layered flavors build to a crescendo of fresh and juicy black-fruit, accented with hints of orange zest, licorice, and dark chocolate.
Ample winter rains provided welcome soil saturation for the growing season and canopy development. Spring was a bit cooler and rainier than in the last couple of years, resulting in bud break and flowering being delayed a few weeks compared to 2018.
Fragrant earthiness lies beneath rich black cherry and plum flavors in this full-bodied, deep-colored wine. Mocha, cardamom and baked cherry enhance the wine's refreshing acidity and powerful tannins that find harmony on the lingering finish.
Opens with fresh plums that intertwine with coffee & cedar. An effortless mix of blackberries & baking spice, the Merlot is complex & elegant, offering smooth layers of pomegranate & a depth of dark chocolate that carries through the persistent finish.
Medium bodied, for Napa Cab, and very pretty showing violets and loads of blue fruit. A very well balanced wine.
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a classic Togni wine, meant to be laid down for at least a decade and capable of aging well for 20 years beyond that in a cool cellar.
This 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a dark blue/black color and an opaque center. This is a stellar wine with black cherry and blue fruits. The flavors are bright and focused with gorgeous layers of black cherry, plum butter, and mixed berry compote.
