There’s purity to the cherry, strawberry, rose, mineral and herb aromas and flavors in this solidly built red, which shows excellent balance and length. The muscular finish begs for more time for the beautiful fruit to assimilate. Best from 2025 through 2042. 1,700 cases made, 800 cases imported.

“Le Difese” represents the entry level of the winery, but in reality it has nothing at all about entry and instead what it offers to the glass is of a notable level . Awarded by all the international publications in the sector, it is a true thoroughbred wine, as per the company philosophy. Blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, it expresses the class and finesse of a Bordeaux, with an entirely Italian soul. Characteristic for its good structure and its extreme softness, which make it extremely pleasant and drinkable. And accessible!
Ruby red with violet hues. Intense and broad aromatic baggage, where notes of succulent red fruits emerge and give way to spicy characters of licorice and roasted coffee. Powerful and structured, with velvety tannins in balance with a vibrant, crisp character. Finish of remarkable length and savoriness.
This dessert wine from Monsanto is impressive. It is burnt orange colored and opens with a sweet rum cake like bouquet. It is full bodied, slightly sweet, and viscous. The flavor profile is a tasty fig, brown sugar and mild rum blend. I also detected hints of apricot, milk chocolate, and oak that added to its complexity. The finish remains sweet and displays controlled heat for this style of wine. This dessert wine would be a perfect match for pecan pie and a good way to finish off an evening.
