Two Hands Wines Angel's Share 2016
Deep black color with a slightly purple rim. An aromatic bouquet of ripe fruits such as cherries and blackcurrants, with notes of freshly ground coffee, dark chocolate, peppermint, licorice, and subtle pepper. The palate starts out quite thick and very smooth. A layered density emerges across the palate leaving a fresh mouthfeel. Whilst the tannins are quite firm, they are balanced with a good amount of fleshy-fruit weight. This wine finishes with excellent precision and persistence.
Two Hands Wines was founded in early 1999 by Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz. Two Hands refers to the very personable approach taken with each parcel of grapes. Their unique approach is reflected in everything from the names of the wines to innovative packaging and the wines themselves. The Picture Series is their premium collection of varietal wines that deliver regional and varietal distinctiveness packaged under unique and irreverent names and personalities. Angels' Share refers to the small amount of wine that evaporates from oak barrels during maturation.
