Toad Hollow Merlot 2014

At Toad Hollow Vineyards, their mission is to produce quality wines that are delicious, interesting and reasonably priced. Bright cranberry and currant aromas and rich raspberry, strawberry and floral notes on the palate. Rich and well-balanced.

This is their Merlot Reserve-planted, grown, and bottled by Toad Hollow. Merlot does best in sandy, clay-like soils as proven in France in Pomerol where it gave birth to the mighty Pétrus-the pinnacle of all Merlot wines. They had the soil, the cuttings and the perfect temperature range preferred by the Merlot grape. They also had Richard McDowell, who, with 30 years as a vineyardist in Sonoma County, tends their Merlot vineyards-so-we named the vineyard after Richard. With all the elements in place we have created a Merlot which they are very proud of.
