From a producer known for unusual spiced rums, here's an 11-yearold whiskey flavored with “double smoked” barrel staves. The aroma suggests brown sugar, marzipan and butterscotch. That brown sugar is echoed on the palate, along with oak and plenty of baking spice. The finish is long and a little hot, a cinnamon tingle dancing on the tip of the tongue.
92 proof. 46 percent alcohol by volume in a 750 milliliter bottle. Corn whiskey aged for roughly 11 years in used barrels at MGPI in Indiana and then finished with a second aging in toasted barrels for about 28 days.
