Sieur d'Arques Limoux Toques et Clochers Haute Vallee 2010
100% Chardonnay. Nice yellow color with golden hints. Steady and open bouquet with notes of white flowers. Harmonious palate with roundness and an aromatic complexity on the finish.
Produced and bottled by Les Caves du Sieur d'Arques, founded in 1946 and named after the lord of the region, "le Sieur d'Arques" who swigged down "flasks of Blanquette" to celebrate his victories. It is a 6,900-plus-acre cooperative situated in the Limoux appellation, with lands divided into four terroirs (Mediterraneen, Autant, Oceanique, and Haute-Vallee) and subjected to the latest oceanic influences and the natural screen of the foothills of the Pyrenees. To help preserve their historical heritage and unique local architecture, Sieur d'Arques holds annual charity auctions, since 1990, called "Toques et Clochers" with profits going towards renovating the 42 bell towers of the villages in Limoux.
